What are dental braces?
Metal braces consist of brackets and wires to align teeth and correct teeth misalignment and other dental issues. Metal brackets are attached to each tooth using an adhesive. Archwires (metal wires) are threaded (attached) through the brackets and tightened with elastic bands that apply gentle pressure to guide the teeth into the desired position. During the course of treatment, the wires are gradually tightened or adjusted for bite correction and to correct the alignment of the teeth.
